FastHash

1. Introduction

The Service is a client-side application. Hash computation is performed within the User's browser using WebAssembly. The Service does not operate backend servers that process or store User files.

2. Definitions

• "Service" refers to the web application available at fasthash.pages.dev.
• "Operator" refers to Martin Polomský, the individual operating the Service.
• "we", "us", "our" refer to the Operator.
• "User" refers to any individual who accesses or uses the Service.
• "Personal Data" refers to any information that identifies or could reasonably identify a natural person, such as a name or email address.
• "Local Processing" refers to hash computation performed within the User's browser, without transmission of file data to any server operated by the Service.

3. Permitted Use

The Service must be used only for lawful purposes. Permitted use includes generating and verifying hash values for files that the User is legally entitled to use, for purposes such as file integrity verification, software validation, and data comparison.

4. Prohibited Use

The following uses of the Service are prohibited:

• Use of the Service for any purpose that is unlawful under applicable law.
• Attempting to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its hosting infrastructure.
• Automated or scripted access to the Service that places unreasonable load on the hosting infrastructure or is used for abusive, malicious, or disruptive purposes.
• Use of the Service to process files to which the User does not have lawful access.
• Any use intended to circumvent security measures or exploit vulnerabilities.

5. User Responsibility

The User is solely responsible for the files they select for processing and for the manner in which they use the results produced by the Service. The Operator does not have access to the files processed by the User and assumes no responsibility for any actions taken by the User based on the Service's output.

The User represents and warrants that their use of the Service complies with all applicable laws and does not infringe the rights of any third party.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. The Operator does not warrant that:

• the Service will be available at any particular time or without interruption;
• the Service will be free of errors or defects;
• the hash values produced by the Service will be suitable for any particular purpose.

Use of the Service is at the User's own risk. The Service does not guarantee the security, authenticity, or integrity of any file beyond the mathematical properties of the hashing process.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Operator shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of or related to the use of, or inability to use, the Service by the User, including but not limited to loss of profits, business interruption, or data loss.

8. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the Service, including its design and source code, are owned by or licensed to the Operator. The Service is provided subject to these Terms. This does not grant any right to resell, redistribute, or provide the Service as part of another service without prior written permission.

Files processed by the User remain the property of the User or the applicable rights holder. The Operator makes no claim to any files submitted for hashing.

9. Changes to These Terms

The Operator may update these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service after any such update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Slovak Republic, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Slovak Republic.
