1. Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how the Service processes information in connection with the FastHash web application.
The Service is a client-side application. Hash computation is performed within the User's browser using WebAssembly. The Service does not operate backend servers that receive or process User files.
2. Definitions
- "Service" refers to the web application available at fasthash.pages.dev.
- "Operator" refers to Martin Polomský, the individual operating the Service.
- "we", "us", "our" refer to the Operator.
- "User" refers to any individual who accesses or uses the Service.
- "Personal Data" refers to any information that identifies or could reasonably identify a natural person, such as a name or email address.
- "Local Processing" refers to hash computation performed entirely within the User's browser, without transmission of file data to any server operated by the Service or any third party.
3. Data Processing
- Files submitted for hashing: All file processing occurs locally in the browser. The Service does not receive, transmit, or store User files or the resulting hash values.
- Contact form submissions: The Service provides an optional contact form powered by Formspree. If a User submits a contact form, the Operator receives the Personal Data provided, which may include the User's name, email address, and message content. This Personal Data is used to respond to the inquiry and for no other purpose. It is not disclosed to third parties. It is deleted when no longer necessary for the purpose of communication. 4. Data the Service Does Not Collect
- The Service does not require User registration.
- The Service does not use any analytics, telemetry, tracking technologies, or cookies.
- No usage data is collected, stored, or transmitted by the Service.
- The Service does not collect, receive, or store files submitted for hashing, the resulting hash values, or any metadata derived from such files.
5. Applicable Regulations
- GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation, EU 2016/679). The Operator processes Personal Data only when voluntarily submitted via the contact form, for the purpose of responding to the relevant inquiry. This Personal Data is not disclosed to third parties and is deleted once the correspondence is concluded. The Service does not maintain User accounts or persistent User databases. Users may contact the Operator via the contact form regarding their personal data.
- CalOPPA (California Online Privacy Protection Act). The Service discloses its data practices in this Policy and does not sell Personal Data.
- CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act). The Service does not sell Personal Data. The only Personal Data the Service may hold about a California resident is Personal Data voluntarily submitted via the contact form. Requests to access or delete such Personal Data may be submitted using the contact form.
6. Our Commitments
- The Service will not disclose Personal Data to any third party, except where required by applicable law or a valid and binding legal order.
- The Service will not use Personal Data submitted via the contact form for any purpose other than responding to the relevant inquiry.
- The Service will process and comply with requests to delete Personal Data submitted via the contact form.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. The Service does not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under 13. If the Service becomes aware that such Personal Data has been submitted, it will be deleted.
8. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in applicable legal requirements. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
